So there have been a lot of things that I keep thinking to write down but there remain trapped in my mind.
Let me start with this story. So I went to get my legs…and other parts… waxed about a week ago. It was some thing I did for the first time in Argentina and thanks to Caitlin I survived the surprise removal of much more than I was planning on. This time was very similar, pretty much the same deal, but no Caitlin. The whole time the lady was smearing hot wax all over my legs and then pealing it off like it was the sheets from a bed to wash…I could not stop thinking about how prudish our culture is. The fact that waxing is so expensive period is evidence of that. I mean, what are you really paying for? The wax…no, I don’t think so. You pay for service in a conservative society. Not just anyone wants to rip the hairs out of other women’s legs and pubic areas- thus the ridiculous cost. It leaves the service only available to a certain level of people and turns something simple and functional into a status simble.
Final thoughts? I think everyone should have access to hair-ripping-out services whenever they want to!! Long live the hairless body!
