Huzzah! Finally a Gintama fanart. I'm thoroughly enjoying this anime at the moment. There are too many characters that I want to (eventually) draw, but I couldn't resist doing Kamui and Takasugi first.
Also, I just realised I never answered your question from your last post! Sorry!
I am doing fine - I just finished the JET Program in Japan, and am going back next week (I'm in England right now) to work as a teacher in a private high school. How about you? You are still doing science grad school in the USA, right? That's really really awesome. I still sometimes think whether I should go back to science, but the longer I leave it, the less I feel inclined to...
That's great! How was the program? I bet it was quite an experience.
Yes, I'm still in grad school on a subsistence stipend XD It has its ups and downs, and sometimes I worry about whether I'll have a job when I graduate...
Science is great and all...but I don't think it's for everyone :/ So stressful!
The program was absolutely amazing - I'm really glad I was able to be a part of it :D But of course it has its ups and downs too, like any job (dealing with cockroaches definitely no fun).
How long do you have left of the program? I'm sure you'll have no problem getting a job afterwards. Are you thinking of staying in academia or go into industry? Also, randomly question, how often do you go back to the UK to visit your family? I'm leaving for Japan in 2 days and am feeling a bit sad about going, haha :P
UUUUGH THE FLYING ROACHES ARE THE WORST! I'm glad you had a good time though! It does sound very exciting, plus the shiny novelty of living abroad *_*
..Ahem.
Hmm, I don't know... programs here take around 5-7 years on average, I think. I'm trying to graduate in 5 but let's see...XD
My family's actually in Singapore (I just did undergrad in the UK ;D), and I visit once a year. I don't really get homesick and my parents pester me every weekend on skype, so it sorta works out.
AREN'T THEY JUST?! Arrgh, I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy.
Aah, my bad. I was totally under the impression that your family lived in the UK too. Singapore is really cool, I've only ever been to the airport but I have some friends there. I guess if you did your undergrad abroad then you're used to being away from home. I should be too, really lol :P *snugs back* I'm going to be in Japan for another year.
