Has anyone heard of the anime series,
Toshokan Senso (Library War)? I don't believe it is so well-known. I found it quite by chance and thought I'd watch the first episode...and ended up watching the whole 12 episodes in one day (and thoroughly enjoyed it). It's set in a futuristic, dystopian-like world where freedom of speech and expression is closely censored by the government. Fighting this oppression are the libraries who have taken a military approach and employ 'book soldiers' to stand against the abuse of power.
It's actually a romantic story at heart but the backdrop is really interesting and not an insignificant or irrelevant issue. Highly recommended!
