"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

You know, back during Nixon's administration, we impeached presidents for breaking the law, we didn't have a spineless Congress bickering about the best way to make it legal and exonerate those who aided the process.

WHAT THE LOCKING HELL IS WRONG WITH AMERICA? WHERE'S IS THE LOCKING OUTRAGE? ...Other than in me.

69 to 28, my God. And naturally, without the an amendment to make it so that the phone companies would only be let off after the legality of their actions had been reviewed. Thanks for trying, anyway, Senator Spector.

So what if if it makes it clear that the F.I.S.A. court is the only way to conduct wiretaps? The Attorney General can order one on an American citizen without it being questioned for days. And we're clearly not punishing the people that violated the law already!

And our Democratic nominee voted for it, how sweet of him.

The fact that I'm re-reading some Vimes right now just makes it worse.
