This is next on my list! I'm currently finishing up Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, for some totally cheery POWER OF HEART shojo, and after that it is DECONSTRUCTION TIME.

IT IS INDEED! I haven't seen Nanoha yet, but I think it was Shinbou's first series.

Actually, he directed both SoulTaker and Moon Phase before Nanoha, as well as quite a few other, less notable works.

And to be honest, the style we know him for now doesn't really show up in Nanoha. (It was Shinbo, but not SHAFT, for one.)
