Too damned hot!
It's 105 and still climbing. It's hot all over California. They've now issued a level 1 emergency because a 750 megawatt plant has gone offline. D. went into work today in Oakland (which is hitting 100 in the hills), but the building turns off the air conditioning on the weekends. I can't wait to hear how her day was when we do dinner tonight! :-/ I've been dutifully setting the thermostat higher and higher, but the cats get sick if it gets too hot inside so I can't set it higher than 85. I didn't even make it to the lab since they don't run air conditioning in the room I'd need to be in. Bleah!
Geography update: I have moved out of my apartment and am living 5 doors down the street with a friend until I fly out to Boston next Thursday.
