Escape velocity.

Colonel Parker's crew of fools has been subjugated, and now Doom strides through the corridors, leading this motley assortment of fodder and strategically concealing the group from prying security eyes.

"Grimm," Doom says, in a condescending tone. "Do you have an adequate craft, or shall I summon my own?"

Spider-Man has launched himself feet-first at the 'all-in-black' person, just in case it's another symbiote mess that needs to be beaten down.

Special Agent St Commons, codenamed 'Dusk', is one of SHIELD's more volatile and unusual metas. Potentially immortal, and spiritually bonded to an extradimensional suit (that may or may not be sentient) with a host of not-quite-demonic powers.

She's also borderline insane.
But that suited Urich just fine, and she'd been recruited into the Excel Squadron.

As both the spider-thing and the squishy thing close in on her, her voice doesn't come from her body, but seemingly from everywhere. Don't want to hurt you.

Reality flickers for the spider-thing, as in the moment he touches her, they vanish, reappearing in the same second behind the squishy thing, Dusk floating upwards and over the spider-thing, as his momentum carries him still towards the squishy thing.

"Oh, no you don't!"

The stalking Terminator reveals an extra pair of eyes in the back of his head, just before he shifts into the form of a trampoline, so Spidey can get a good bounce.

"I don't want to be that close to Spidey, I'm on the rebound from a bad relationship!"

If he wasn't still brimming with Venom anger, Spidey might comment on the horrendousness of that pun.

For now, he's just grateful that he is what he is, and he tries to angle his bounce to spring back up and figure out what the shock just happened there.

"The black thing teleports! I think!"

You should all just give up. The voice comes disembodied again, as Dusk slowly circles the both of them slowly. I'm dangerous. She closely watches them both. Jumbled images run through her mind, about how proud they'd be of her if she could just disable them all. Freeze their souls in place.

That would be bad though. And it's not her orders anyway.

A webline fires out at the Dangerous thing, just to see if there's anything solid to latch onto.

"We give up, your world dies and we die with you. It's not happening, morons!"

Morph, for his part, keeps up the comedy - manifesting a giant mallet to swing at the shadowy foe.

"What's black, white, and red all over? Mephisto in a habit!"

Dusk blinked out of the way of the webline, returning as she sees the mallet coming at her, but still attentive enough to hear what the squishy-thing said. This time, her voice was focused, coming clearly from her, but with the same intensity as when disembodied.

"Mephisto...? MEPHISTO?!" A solidified wave of blackness surged out from her form, slamming against both of them. "No!! He won't touch me again!"

The squishy-thing, clearly, had touched a nerve.

Mephisto? Should he know that name?

As the darkforce smacks him against the wall and drops him to the ground, it's a pretty good sign that the answer is an unqualified 'yes.'

Blunt-force trauma, he could handle.

"You know, that's the worst reaction I've ever had to that joke, bar nun!"

Of course, now he's got an idea.

Simulated crimson smoke billows around his form temporarily as he shifts, becoming larger, and much redder - taking on the form of Mephisto.

"Why should I touch you, pathetic creature? You're doing precisely what I would want you to by hindering these travellers!"

He bellows with dark laughter.

What the shock?

This... would be Mephisto.

The Heroic Age was truly an insane time.

Audibly sobbing behind her mask, Dusk started lashing out. Bolts of solidified darkness hurled out of her like shraphnel from a battlefield explosion. Tendrils whirled around her, keeping anyone who might approach her at bay.

"I think you set her off, Morphisto..."

Spider-Man swings off to try and handle someone else here, leaving this loonbag to Morph.

Morph isn't breaking character right now, putting himself in harm's way to absorb the blasts of darkness - it hurts, but it's manageable pain.

"You presume to defy me with your inaction?"

The last of her stability dwindling, all the excess attacks stop, a torrent of the darkforce coming straight at the demon form, engulfing it like some protozoan creature's feeding. And it begins to tighten.

Dusk, still sobbing, pleads "Just go away... just let it be over..."

"Hey..." The voice is inhuman, but still oddly female. She reaches up and around her face. "Mephisto."
