Oh, thank you. I'm glad Queen Annis is coming across realistically because as much as I love writing her it's a bit of a challenge too.

And saying that I made Elyan's injury 'real' wow that means a lot to me. I based it on that a lot of great stories, these kinds of injuries are written in ways that feel truthful. But also it's just a bit of real life, visiting hospitals etc. It's kind of a challenge putting it in medieval time though so wow, what a great comment to get.

Honestly I did not notice that about Isolde, but it's probably because I was so tied into the emotional part of the story, which is how I usually react.

But I definitely see your point. The show is meant for familiies so that's probably some of it, but her death was brutal and they've had other scenes with lesser characters dying so yeah, it does come off kind of cartoonish when they lose their life and yet we don't see the realism of it. The show gives us very brutal battles at times and yet the consequences of these types of fights are not always strongly shown.

It's interesting you mentioned this because I'm going to be posting soon a story that takes place after Gwen's banishment and it includes a sort of AU take of the battle when Morgana first takes over Camelot. And so writing it I've found it hard to not deal with the brutalities really of war. I don't like to write a lot of bloody scenes etc, but I've found I have to include some of that to make it come across truthfully. So it's been a real challenge, made me wonder if I'm taking it too far, not taking it far enough etc.

So yeah, before I go way off, your comment came at the right moment because now I feel better about writing this story with more realism than just glossing over the battle.

So thank you so much for your so helpful and kind comments!!!
