I'll keep tossing rocks at your window.

I watched Puss in Boots last week, and The Three Musketeers … about a month ago, I think. Instead of plain-out skipping out on reviews, I figured I should do short [spoiler-free] ones.

The Three Musketeers: It was bad, but at the same time, it was good …? I think I ended up liking it because I went in with zero expectations, and because the people involved somehow knew it wasn't going to be some super serious awards contender, they just went along with the punches. Orlando Bloom's turn as a villain was rather intriguing. Luke Evans is hot. Christoph Waltz was a bit disappointing as Cardinal Richeliu; I feel like he's settling into some kind of comfort zone with Landa-esque roles (read: magnificent bastard), and it's a disservice to his tremendous talent. Milla was … well, Milla. I liked the relationship between King Louis XIII and Queen Anne. The costumes were gorgeous. 2.5/5

Puss in Boots: This was a lot better than Shrek the Third and Shrek Forever After. I don't remember the former, and the only time I laughed during the latter was when Rumpelstiltskin made his public announcement. This had heart: it was funny (and it didn't need to rely on toilet humour for that), and it was touching. It was a bit predictable, though. Young Puss was adorable. I had Lady Gaga's "Americano" stuck in my head after the film. The trailer for Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 made me want to retch. 3/5

I'm crushing so hard for Armie Hammer now, goodness -- and as with most of my celeb crushes nowadays, it started from a dream. It was so odd! I watched The Social Network just once, and that was at the beginning of the year. He didn't even register when I did. (I was focusing on Andrew Garfield instead.) I didn't hear or read any news about him, nor was he being posted all over the place on Tumblr. Then poof! I have a dream about him. But ever since then, I've been looking him up on Tumblr and YouTube, and good grief, he is so dreamy. His voice is like chocolate. It might be an odd simile, but that's what it reminds me of whenever I hear him speak! And he's so charming and charismatic and well-spoken and -- I'm off to watch some more videos of him now, ta.

ETA: I recalled an article about Armie and his wife (sigh) opening a bakery, and I thought, "Oh, geez, as if he needs another reason to be perfect -- hey, I wonder if he plays the guitar!" -- because, you know, I like guitarists, so that's another measure of perfection. Guess what? HE DOES. Good God, y'all.
