There is a serious side to this. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is reported to have strapped the carrier of his Irish setter Seamus to the top of his car (with the dog inside) for a family trip to Canada.
Now, I'm sure most people realize that I'm a Democrat (not quite a yellow dog Democrat, but fairly close), and I wouldn't vote for Mitt Romney if he WAS a dog, let alone the weak-willed twat he actually is. But even if I was Republican, I would be deeply disturbed by the level of thoughtlessness it would take to strap a live animal to the roof of your car and drive a long distance.
We've had quite enough thoughtlessness from the White House in the past 7 years, thank you.
