((Quick update on the timeline- first Alfons shows up, then an arrangement is agreed upon, at which point Riza stays with Jean for the night. Then an NC-17 post, which you need to be on Riza-mun's list and filters for, and then Jean moved in with Riza as a temporary solution. The talk with Trisha and with bbi!Al come after this. Also, I do play both pups, no worries. XD;;; I'm not stealing someone's pup, this Winry is chrysalis_winry, who's mine.))

Edward was realizing very quickly he needed to add another floor to the building already. As soon as he could get ahold of
Al, he wouldn't have any free apartments in the entire building.

It's a fairly simple job, if time consuming, but the problem is getting the materials up to the fourth level where he needs them. Fortunately, he has a scaffolding, or the materials for one, that he can rig up pretty easily, and also fortunately, he has a pretty macho chick of a sister around to help him lug around materials. He could probably do that himself, except he's not in quite as good of shape as he used to be, and his false limbs are nowhere near as reliable as automail is.

Which, of course, she picked up on, as he really should've known.

"I'm not discussing this, Winry," he says with a sigh as he adjusts his grip on the wooden beam she's passing up to him.

She gives him a thoroughly tired look. "Why not? Ed, you've been through the surgery before, I know it's painful, but you know you need something better than those antiques."

"I already told you," he snaps, hauling the beam up and setting it down on the scaffolding next to him. "I got too much to do to be laid up that long."

"You're not the only one that runs the complex," she reminds him, picking up another beam and pulling it upright for him to grab. "And you have at least three people besides me who will gladly help you get through rehab faster and take care of things for you. You can't afford to not have better limbs if you're gonna keep getting into trouble like what Al told me about before I showed up. Ed, what're you gonna do if those things give out on you at the worst possible time? They're over 150 years old in design, they're antiques. I can get you the best available, and you know it."

"Would you drop it?" he answered, practically growling, then turned up the stereo he had balanced precariously on the edge of the scaffolding next to him.

She stared at him a moment, then sighed, shaking her head as she helped him balance the beam as he pulled it up.

((Free for anyone to come along. :D
