Ed stands outside of Sarah's apartment for a moment, listening to make sure he didn't have... unfortunate... timing. Once assured that his alt wasn't there, he knocks on the door.

Sarah looks up from her game (jeez, she's been playing that a lot), blinking a minute before flipping it closed and going to answer the door. "Uh...hey, Ed. Something up?"

"Yeah. Certain menaces just don't know when to stay dead."

She blinks, then frowns worriedly, opening the door further. "That you're coming to me about this is worrying."

"Remember the friend I mentioned that was killed by her evil clone and said clone died too? Well, guess who's back?"

"Whu...how? The Nexus doesn't usually bring back people that die IN it!" She steps to the side to belatedly let Edward in.

Ed walks in warily, perching himself on the edge of a chair. "Just so you know, if my alt comes back while I'm here, I'll probably fling myself out a window and high-tail it back to my own apartment."

Ed returns to the reason he came. "Who says they died in the Nexus? Not everyone who wanders around it lives here, you know. Anyway, she's now some sort of... ghost thing. Ran into her a day or so ago."

"And if he pitches a fit about it I'll smack him a new one."

"Same rule applies, usually. I think." Another frown. "Ghost thing?"

"She's intangible, and looks all evil wraithy. Black robe and hood and everything. I also heard her talking to me in my head." Ed looks creeped out at the last part.

Sarah grimaces. "Eesh. That's...ick. Though I still don't understand why you're telling me about it. Is there someway I might be able to help?"

Ed takes a deep breath. "Thing is, she doesn't like me either. Partly because of my knowing the friend and an alt, partly because I've been, um, difficult. Which makes me a target. And I don't think all she did while she was in there was talk to me."

He waits for Sarah to make the connection.

...she pales slightly. "...oh. B-but I'm not..."

"So long as you stay in the part of the Nexus with the AV Field, I think you'll be safe," Ed says wearily. "Same old story of evil person striking at others through friends and loved ones. I think I'm basically a secondary target which would make you a tertiary one for being a friend of mine."

She nods, sinking into a chair. "O-okay..." She fidgets with the keychains attached to her belt. "So I...probably won't be bothered?"

"Hopefully. But she's a spiteful bitch, so who knows?"

"R-right. I'll just stick further to the AV Field then." She continues to fidget, but she's gained back her color.

"Sorry to be the bearer of sucky news," Ed says ruefully.
