Time for one of those updates I was talking about. This one is on that new TREOS CD. Read and enjoy.
Okay, so first of all, The Receiving End Of Sirens absolutely kicks ass. I would just like to get that out of the way. Because of the fact that they kick ass, so does their new CD, duh. The name is a little weird, The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi, but I can live with that. But seriously, it's really good. The one problem that I have with it is that ever since Casey Crescenzo left the band, I have been very sad. I know nobody else cares like I do, but wow they were really fucking good. If I had never heard TREOS's first CD, I would think the world of this one, but it is so incredibly hard for me to listen to it when I know that they could have been so much better if Casey was still in the band. Yeah I know they had problems with him or something, but still, sad.
There is barely anyone that will read this and know what I'm talking about. Actually there is barely anyone that will read this. But if you'd like to know what I'm talking about, download the song "This Armistice" by The Receiving End Of Sirens, and fall in love with the ridiculous harmony that they have when the 3 vocalists sing all at once. Seriously, ridiculous.
As for songs I think stand out on the new CD, "Smoke and Mirrors" and "Oubilette (Disappear)". I just like these songs a lot, and I'm betting one of them will be the first single. Maybe the other will be the second, who knows? And "The Crop And The Pest", that one's good too. Surprisingly, there isn't a song on it that I can say I don't like. But maybe I just haven't listened enough, although in my car all of the time adds up to a lot of TREOS.
