*looks up at the sound*

Hello? Val?

*startled*

Uh, hello. No, my name is Hanild...

*pulls himself up slowly to the bars and tries to find Hanild in the corridor*

Oh. You sounded like my wife.

Hello.

Oh, no...no I'm no one's wife.

*eyes Elphir suspiciously, staying far from the bars*

You're the one Eomer brought back, aren't you?

Ah, one of the fun gondorian swingers? Like Beruthiel? *rests against the bar*

I am. Prince Elphir Swanhelm, at your service lady Hanild.

Swingers? *looks confused* And I'm Rohirrim.

Ah. I've heard of you. Prince of Dol Amroth, correct? I read up on the royalty of Gondor and it's vicinities before I left Meduseld. What did you do to make Eomer imprison a member of Dol Amroth's royal family? If you don't mind me asking...

Nevermind. Only context I can give you is the Beruthiel part of the comment.

A Rohirrim! Goodness.

*nods* Yes. I ruled it up until a few days ago. And what did I do? Bad things. Several of them.

Oh, well, Lady Beruthiel's been very nice to me, so that must be a good thing.

So who is running things there now? I've been thinking I should make an official visit there, introduce the new Rohan royalty.

Bad things? I figured that. They don't generally lock people up when they've been good. How bad? *mutters to herself* I may know someone you'd get along with...

Heh.

My sister is, according to the people polite enough to answer me. I'm glad my kingdom isn't going to go up in smoke and demoncracy while I'm gone.

I killed my son, raped my brother, and attempted to murder my nepehw. I've killed my father too, but no one really cared about that except to say 'good riddance'. You probably could have done not to know that, milady.

*nods* Yes, I think the two of you would get along famously. And not to worry. It's nothing I haven't heard or been threatened with myself before.

Why does Eomer care what you've done?

My nephew is his son. And he swore to protect my brother.

Now, who would I get along famously with? And I'm certainly not going to threaten you with this. I've just met you.

His family. I see.

Oh, well...*fidgets*...there's this man who killed my brother, tries to kill my father and apparently wants to "knock me up" whatever that means. Of course, he'd probably torture and kill you just for the fun of it if you ever did meet...

elphir February 18 2003, 17:28:09 UTC
'Knock you up'. He wants to get you pregnant. At least, that's what the term means in Dol Amroth.

I'll be dead long before I ever meet him. I'm waiting for them to finally just kill me.

Oh.....*pales*......oh.....that's not....good. *loses balance and sits hard on the floor*

They're going to kill you?

*head jerks at the thump* What was that?

Yes, they are. Or at least someone is. If they let me die, I can count on my brother's husband to catch me. I don't plan to fight back.
