The hardest thing about working every day the 20th through the 24th? Little time for seeing people. Especially since I'm going out of town on the 28th and won't be back until the third. I've had multiple people today ask me if they could see me at all before Christmas or New Years, and it looks like it may not work out for some of them. Mind you, I'm excited to get out of town, really excited. But I want to see people, and it's going to be hard to cram everyone in. Boooo work schedule but yaaaay money.
So here's how it's lining up: Hanukkah dinner is tomorrow night! I invited Wren over (combining seeing her before she goes home to Iowa and the holiday), and got matzo ball soup to go with the latkes. Then Wednesday I'm making candied almonds with my aunt before going to the library for a night shift. Thursday I have my usual 10-2 and 5-9 shifts at the museum, and then there's going to be karaoke with coworkers (I wasn't going to go but it's the only time I get to see David before the holiday) and then running over to Memory Lanes to give Kevin his Christmas present. Friday I work at New Brighton Library from 9-5 and then book it to my parent's house, as Julia gets back that night and we're tree decorating. And THEN on Christmas Eve I work 9-3, have to make a quick stop at the Launer cookie party, and then go BACK to my parent's for Christmas Eve dinner with the extended family by 5:30!
I'm already exhausted just thinking about it. And somewhere in there I have to make a rum cake, DAMMIT. Probably late on Friday night....
On the plus side, SCROOGED arrives tomorrow and NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS arrives on Wednesday! ::dances::
