First of all, I am utterly horrified and disgusted by what happened in Norway on Friday. I was so out of the news loop practically all day on Friday I didn't know just how awful it was, and as more and more information comes out the more revolted I am by it all. At times like this I really don't understand people. And honestly, my faith in our species crumbles more and more whenever I hear stuff like this.
Besides that awful bit of news, it's been a pretty okay weekend. Well, the Twins game on Friday was lame. It was too hot out and we were crushed by Detroit. But the company was very nice. And last night was Game Night, which was lots of fun like always and lots of laughs were had. Mainly because I found a bunch of action figures and my friends had far too much fun with them.
And then this morning, and I have no idea WHY this happened, but this morning I opened the mail and found a card from my Aunt Debi. And in that card was a note that said that she and my uncle forgot about my graduation three years ago, and major apologies along with a check for five hundred dollars. WHAT? This is.... I'm kind of flabbergasted and will be writing a thank you note and sending it out tomorrow. I'm... I don't even know what I'm going to do with this. I'll probably put a majority of it towards Vegas, but... I kind of want to get something now too? I don't know.
Catching up on the meme!
17 - Titles - Are they the bane of your existence, or the easiest part of the fic? Also, if you do chaptered fic, do you give each chapter a title, or not?
I don't have nearly as much a problem with titles as I do summaries. Usually I think of one really easily, and if I don't I'll just take a song title from a song that has a similar theme to the story at hand. Titles aren't too terrible.
18 - Where do you get the most inspiration for your fics (aka "bunnies") from?
Honestly, ideas just kind of come to me randomly. I'll either be at work and zoning and something will come to mind, or I'll just be at home doing something else and I'll be like 'ah HA! That should happen! I can't force bunnies, they kind of just have to come on their own. But it's usually at the Museum, of all places. In fact, I would say that a majority of my bunnies come to me when I'm either in the Collections Gallery or when I'm in the Dinosaurs and Fossils Gallery. Probably because when I'm in there I'm able to zone and not worry about other things, like when I'm in King Tut. So I guess dinosaurs, two headed turtles, and our museum mummy give me the most inspiration.
19 - When you have bunnies, do you sit down and start writing right away, or do you write down the idea for further use?
Since my bunnies usually come at work, I can't really sit down and write them out.... What I CAN do is repeat it over and over again in my mind until it's pretty much burned there... AND, if it's not busy in Collections I will just sit behind the counter at Collectors Corner and write out outlines just to be extra sure that they stay. Bust mostly they just stay up in my head.
I might be going to the Gay 90s tonight. It depends on how tired David is. Will update if it happens!!!!
ETA: Here is what I spent 12 bucks on. Oh yes, 12 bucks well spent!
