Last night's karaoke was not as great as I had hoped it would be. I think I should have just gone to Memory Lanes instead, but I told Scully and Alexi that I would go out with all of them. And I've already said I'd go out next week, but that's because Alexi moves to Montana soon and is done at the museum after next Thursday. So.... yeah, I'll go. But I'm doing Meat Loaf next week, dammit!!!
30 Days Fanfiction Meme
3 - For each of the fandoms from day two, what were your favorite characters to write?
BUFFY/ANGEL: I like to write Spike, Faith, and Illyria. Spike because he's snarky and adorable, Faith because she's badass, and Illyria because she's FUCKING ILLYRIA and I love every fiber of her. Plus, I imagine that she and Spike would have hilarious banter. I've written some Angel too, but only when I delve into the Spangel slash realm, which isn't all the often. Though I should delve more....
THAT 70S SHOW: Jackie. Jackie Jackie Jackie. She's fierce and hilarious in her fierceness. And yeah, Hyde too, but I love Jackie the most, by far and away. I also do like writing Eric, just to get the nerdiness out because let's face it, I want to be like Jackie, but I'm definitely like Eric.
HARRY POTTER: Snape is for sure my favorite to write. But actually, Narcissa Malfoy became a real favorite too. I'll address that later in the meme, but Narcissa is lots of fun because of all the murky subtext that Rowling put in the books..
WATCHMEN: I really only write two characters in this fandom: Rorschach and Nite Owl II. I have a lot more fun writing Rorschach, just because he's a super crazy pants who angsts all the time, but I'm better at writing Nite Owl II because, again, nerd. Sweet and awkward nerd. That's really easy to write in my experience.
LEFT 4 DEAD 2: Nick and Ellis, preferably boning each other. But I also like fleshing out both characters. I think that I like writing Nick better because he's more complex, being older and a con man. But writing Ellis is fun too because he's just so happy all the time, and he has this sunny disposition that is endearing. I've also really gotten attached to writing Rochelle and Francis through THE GHOST IN YOU, as they have become another set of characters that I really care about, probably because I've been writing them as actual characters instead of background acquaintances to keep the story moving.
ETA: My Mom went a bit out of control at the 20% off sale at the local wine shop. In other words, she called me, said we were going, and threw a six slotted bag at me, saying 'pick six!' I told her that six seemed a bit extreme, to which she said that the only way to effectively take advantage of the wine sale was to buy as many bottles as possible to carry. Suffice to say, I have too much wine now. I thanked her, as it was very generous. But..... Who am I going to drink all this wine with?????
