Whoa, LJ, What's Going On?

Apr 06, 2011 13:58

So I don't know about you guys, but MY LJ access has been spotty at best. I don't really have much to say, other than the following:

~ I'm diverting my reading list a little bit. I know I originally said that I was tackling IN A SUNBURNED COUNTRY by Bill Bryson, but I realized that I wasn't really in the mood for a travel book at the moment. It's still on my list, but it's been subverted. Right now I'm going to try reading HOUSE OF LEAVES again. I tried it awhile back and couldn't get into it. I'm trying again because I hear it's really disconcerting. So I'm sticking it out in hopes of being disconcerted.

1. Heat Wave by Richard Castle (or not)
2. The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff
3. Oleander House by Ally Blue
4. It Takes Two by Elliott Mackle
5. Liquor by Poppy Z. Brite
6. I Love You Phillip Morris by Steve Mcvicker
7. Drawing Blood by Poppy Z. Brite
8. One Night Stand by Ben Tyler
9. The Lonely Polygamist by Brady Udall
10. Me and Mr. Darcy by Alexandra Potter
11. Dracula in Love by Karen Essex
12. Chew Volume One by John Layman and Robert Guillroy
13. House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski (ongoing)

I need to catch up if I want to break 50 by the end of the year.....

~ I have to fill out some paperwork so I can access my investment money so I can book a hotel for Vegas. I'm going to pay myself back in increments, of course. I seriously cannot wait for this trip. New Years in Vegas (possibly with friends if things work out)? Hell yes.

~ This week's bread endeavor: Pan de Muertos. Aka Bread of the Dead. It's the traditional bread used in the Dia de los Muertos celebration in Mexico. Yeah, it's not November, but I'm craving some of that awesome bread. Therefore I'm making it on Friday.

~ It's been really dead at the Museum the last few nights. I hope that tonight is different. Because it's already really quiet in Dinos. If I have NO ONE after seven I might just lose my mind.

~ I've been feeling more confident with my L4D2 skills lately. I've been playing with people who are quite a bit better than myself, but I'm keeping up, and I haven't been booted yet, hahaha!

Um, yeah, that's about it. Gotta go to work!
