So Early Valentine's Dinner at Manny's Steakhouse followed by a fight followed by making up means that I'm not really sleepy right now. Ugh. So instead I'll tell you about my new personal goal: I'm going to try to read fifty books this year. Again. Yeah, I did it in 2009, mainly because I was unemployed for half of it, so I had time on my hands. Now I'm not only employed, I have two jobs (not including my caretaker job) and only one day off a week. I'm probably crazy for attempting this again. But I have some extra motivation: that is, when I take out a library book, I only have three weeks to read it. And I generally take out two at a time. So hey, if I just keep checking out books and getting them back on time after reading them, I MIGHT just do it. My list thus far:
1. Heat Wave by Richard Castle (yes, from the TV show CASTLE. I wish I knew who actually wrote it)
2. The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff
3. Oleander House by Ally Blue
4. It Takes Two by Elliott Mackle
5. Liquor by Poppy Z. Brite
6. I Love You Phillip Morris by Steve Mcvicker
7. Drawing Blood by Poppy Z. Brite (ongoing)
Okay, so seven thus far ain't too bad. I figure I'll finish DRAWING BLOOD, then start ONE NIGHT STAND, and.... then we'll see. If I'm really good I'll have ten books done by the end of February.
My plans for ACTUAL Valentine's Day? Finish up the
nickxellis advent, go to work, and order a heart shaped pizza for dinner from Green Mill or Davannis or whatever while I wait for Erik to get home from school. I doubt trivia is happening, since most of the team has sweethearts that probably DON'T work or have class tomorrow. And oh hey. NOW I'm sleepy.
