NPS 2005

Aug 08, 2005 08:36

*Tonight, we hit the road. Driving through the night, showing up in Albuquerque sometime in the mid-A.M..

*As the coach of Team Austin, I'm far more anxious/nervous/twitchery than I ever was as a competitor. I guess it goes back to my "control issues."

*I have so much to do before we hit the road: haircut, rental car, laundry, packing, re-packing, showering, rehearsing, re-packing, eating, work.

*I hope to have updates here for anyone who's interested, but I promise nothing. Though I do expect that www.nps2005.org, considering the totally bad-ass site it's been thus far, will have timely bout updates starting Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

*I'm also thrilled/humbled that there are SO MANY AUSTINITES coming out to support us (and, I expect, to party). We'll be rolling in there with a crew of nearly two dozen, which must be some sort of record.

*We finally put the pre-finishing touches on our final group piece yesterday, and thank god, because it's shaping up to be the hottest of the hot.

*No "Slam Planet" at NPS this year, after all. Which is a shame, considering it'll be the one year anniversary (give or take) of the film wrap.

*Ragan? Poker? Indeed.

*Phil? Scrabble? Indeed.

*Chimera? B-ball? Indeed.

*Shapster? Risk? Oh yes, indeed.

*Going to NPS usually makes me wonder about what I'll do post-NPS. This year, I'm not sure.

*Good to know that I'll be returning to an Austin with +1 new friend in town.

*We loves you all. Feel free to flood me with text messages and phone calls of support and general soothing: 300-SUDU.
