This isn't supposed to be amusing, but it is...

... Why does Helen Keller masturbate with only one hand?

She moans with the other.

I don't like this joke. I think it is disrespectful of people with disabilities. I assume that's why you say it "isn't supposed to be amusing."

It makes me sad.

Peace, Andy.

I was kind of expecting that: the only time you note my journal is when I say something that tiptoes into "that" territory. Not that I posted it for that reason; I posted it because it's funny, to me.

The alternative you offer, it seems, is to water down all humor until we remove any chance of anyone, anywhere, being offended or feeling disrespected by it. Not only is that impossible, it would make life horribly boring.

Where have the senses of humor gone?

Out with Paula Cole.

I laughed. Then again, I'm evil.

No question about that last part.

I agree with you, and part of the fun of this kind of humor is how bad you feel for laughing at it. But... it's still funny.

I read someone's userinfo once (it has since been taken down) that if you draw a line with humor then nothing at all can ever be funny, which is basically what you're saying. It's the reason South Park has stayed around as long as it has... You just can't ever draw a line.

damn, you really twisted that shit up, didn't you andy?

"tiptoes" into that territory?

haha...more like stomps into it.

and

to water down all humor until we remove any chance of anyone, anywhere, being offended or feeling disrespected by it

"all humor?"

certainly we don't only have children with special needs, and the disabled to laugh at now do we?

We already talked about this, so I'll resist leaping down anyone's throat. But please, spare me the indignation in the future.

honestly, i used to have you filtered, to keep my indignation in check.
you're so incendiary to me at times.

so in the future, if i am offended or confused, i should just shut up?

No, you shouldn't shut up. In fact, do the opposite. But I hope you take the time to see my point before hyperbolizing. That's all.

it's amazing what some people laugh at. child molestation, rape, torture, those born without the same abilities we have...what next?
