The theme for this week's Studio Friday is 'Comfort'.
In the days following my Dad's death, I began this piece by stitching the lovely old earthy buttons onto the lovely new warm soft felt.
I needed the simplicity, the easy sweetness of just stitching plainly beautiful buttons on, without knowing what came next.
My post-fierce-flu, tear-dripping, melt-down state required some gentling with repetitive creative activity,
and this was what became of taking care of that need. Tenderness and comfort in every stitch.
The other pieces I've made since then, will also be rendered more visible overhere, before long...
