I know one can’t think positively all the time, but it troubles me that some people don’t ever seem to have a positive thought on their mind. Ever. Absolutely everything seems to be wrong for them. They complain all day long and the whole world seems against them somehow.
Even if you say: “It’s a beautiful day today, eh?”
… they’ll somehow turn it into something negative. This girl in my class, for example, muttered the following when I cheerfully told her what a beautiful day it was:
“Yeah, well, I should really keep out of the sun because my skin is so sensitive and it’s actually a bit too hot today. I like it better when it’s not too hot, not too cold, with a bit of wind and a little bit of sun so that I can still breathe, you know.”
Gah, it’s almost like a talent of hers. And that’s how every conversation with her seems to be about her and all the things that are wrong in her life, things that are wrong about other people, things that in her opinion shouldn’t exist, things that are wrong with the whole world and everyone in it and yadayadayada…
Excuse me while I go dial the number of a therapist. No, not for her, but for me! I’ll need someone to get all this negativity out of my system! Honestly.
Seriously though, it’s impossible to have a normal conversation with people like her. They’re always whining. And it ruins my mood, because I’m generally a very positive person. I always at least try to see the glass as half full! And talking to that girl is just so depressing. Unless she cheers the hell up, I’m avoiding her from now on.
Damn it, I know it’s not a perfect world, but you should really stop complaining and make the most out of your life!
