It only took 10+ years

Okay, so long ago, over a decade ago, the El fell madly in love with L.J. Smith. She wrote young adult paranormal romance books long before it was popular. I originally read her stuff back in Junior High when I came across her Heart of Valor which is part of her Arthurian duology. Bloody awesome, I might add.

Then I came across Secret Vampire and I was hook. I read Daughters of Darkness, fell madly in love with Ash and Quinn and I was lost. Anyways, scoured bookstores, collected all the books until Witchlight came out. THEN, they promised Strange Fate would be our in 2009? I think I was.

A decade later and I'm STILL waiting for Strange Fate. Thanks to the shit Twilight series however, all the old YA vampire books have garnered interest and L.J. Smith cashed in on the crazy by rereleasing her Nightworld books (for the third time) in anthologies. Of course I bought them. I'm a total schmuck like that and my old copies of the series are so thumbed through they're falling apart. Of course, there has been buzz that Strange Fate would be released soon. I heard this year and sure enough...it wasn't released. I am a totally burned out fan when it comes to the rumors of Strange Fate getting released.

So yesterday I was at Walmart and poking around the book aisle as always and *gasp* saw L.J. Smith's Dark Visions trilogy had been released in anthology form. Hey, for 8 bucks, I'll pick it up. And I've been immersed in it since yesterday. But what do I find at the end of the book? A *sneak preview* of Strange Fate! A REAL EXCERPT. Written proof in my hands that this freaking book exists! *gasps*

I about died of shock. So a little googling and I found on Amazon that Strange Fate will be released on April 26, 2010.

Okay, now, the fact that it's on amazon and all the major book sites fills me with hope. But there have been entries before about Strange Fate being released and it never did. Please, L.J. Smith, don't break my heard again.

And wow! 528 pages?? Dude, that's like....two and a half times the length of her other Nightworld books. o.O

Wants. And the new Mercy Thompson book is getting released at the end of March. *squee*

How sad is it that I set my calender to the releases of my favorite book series? *wry grin*

Here's hoping! Anyone needs me, I'll be drooling over Ash and Quinn!
