Last night...

It was the coolest thing in the world to watch the weather change like it did. I stood outside my apartment in the ghetto and watched the clouds roll in. I got to feel the weather just change from hot to cold. It was so relaxing. I've always liked thunderstorms. It's so funny because normally if you hear of rain in El Paso you think, yeah right, not really. But yesterday the weatherman wasn't lying. He must of actually felt pretty proud that his predictions were right. Ha Ha! Yesterday reminded me of thunderstorm season back home. Yes, we have an entire season of thunderstorms, it's so great. You can almost smell it when one is coming. There is this electric in the air, almost a tension you can feel. One of my favorite things to do back home with my family was sit on our front porch on our porch swing and watch storms roll in over the cornfield across the street from my house. We've even gotten to see tornados form over that field. There is nothing in the world like the smell of the air before a huge storm. Lightening, it's beautiful to me. For some reason I always have enjoyed the hightened sense of an almost dangerous situation. I remember when I was little sitting on the front porch with my dad. I'd get so scared but my dad always was there for me to bury my head in his chest when a loud clap of thunder came. Yesterday as I watched the storm come in I was taken back, back to things I hadn't remembered in years. I even took time to write in my real journal about it. My sister and I used to make things up about storms when we would get scared....like it was just the angels bowling in heaven. That makes me laugh now. Or the lightening, was God taking pictures of us here. How funny we are.

On a slightly different note...I got my grades today and........... I did good!
