Urk....
Do people actually WANT to be stupid? Honestly!
Whenever I discuss politics or religion, I'm ALWAYS careful to be polite. I never say stuff like, 'liberals are stupid,' or, 'I hate stupid pro-gay movements.' But most of the people I know are the exact opposite. A few of the impolite people I know are conservative, but most are liberal. I've heard a coworker say that only 'wacked out Christians' want Bush's nominees on the Supreme Court bench. Now I, for one, haven't paid much attention to that debate; but that isn't the point. What if I WAS supporting Bush's nominees? What, does that make me a whacked out Christian?
I've heard people say they HATE anyone who is pro-marriage. Look, I don't HATE people who are pro-homosexual; several of my friends are either bisexual or homosexual. I disagree politically, but I don't HATE. That word is thrown around so much, it's ridiculous.
I believe that the Left is, for the most part, sincere. I believe that, to quote Sean Hannity, they are sincerely WRONG. But I don't hear many conservatives accusing the Left of trying to murder old people, and I don't hear many conservative actors saying that Hillary Clinton should be killed. On the other hand, liberals are constantly referring to Bush's 'war on old people,' and how he wants 'old people to die,' and Alec Baldwin once suggested we should 'stone the family' of a prominent conservative judge. What's up with that?! I have a right to my beliefs. The Left is constantly whining about tolerance for other views, while they are often the most INTOLERANT of all.
I don't hate liberals. I don't hate Democrats. I don't love conservatives. I don't love Republicans. I believe what I believe, for my own reasons. I don't consider myself a 'Republican.' I ESPECIALLY don't consider myself 'a conservative Christian.' There is no such thing. Christianity is itself; it is neither conservative or liberal. It's just TRUE, and it is very often at odds with both conservatism and liberalism.
I am a CHRISTIAN, and therefore, I try to make sure my political views are a direct reflection of my spiritual views. If you don't like it, too bad. Try and change my mind about God, and then I'll vote differently. That's what America is all about, right?
But yeah. If you agree with my thoughts on 'HATE!,' let me know...there's just too much hatred in the world...
