UTTER UTTER fucking genius
Sometimes in my life I encounter a programmer who is, quite literally, a total and utter fucking genius. So good that I feel like I'm about 10 years old and struggling with my first BASIC program and wondering what
10 GOTO 10
would do.

He's developed a sort of survival of the fittest DNA algorithm that works by using 50 translucent polygons that "evolve" to try to match a source image. Each generation, the image mutates. If it's closer to the source image, it keeps it. And so on.
He coded this in 3 hours. *wild sobbing that someone could develop something so beautiful so easily and quickly*
