Something EXCEPTIONAL happened that night. Wanna know what?
Curious, huh? But let's do things chronologically.
First, there was the screening of No Country For Old Men, at around 7.30pm.
Here's Javier Bardem
And the Coen brothers with Josh Brolin
The actors hugging and Diane Lane smiling.
Then, at 10.30pm came the screening of Sicko.
Michael Moore
Stalkers (LMAO!)
Harvey Weinstein
And finally, the exceptional thing I was talking about.
A special screening was scheduled for 12.30 but the guys presenting the movie (or rather documentary) were late. And then at 1am, it happened. The movie was U2 3D. And U2 was there. They came, they saw, they conquered. But most of all they played live on the steps. Yes, a free U2 concert on the steps of the Palais des Festival in Cannes in the middle of the night. It was short (only 2 songs = 10 minutes) but it was amazing. The kind of things that happen once in a life. I almost have goose bumps just thinking about it. :D
Yes, The Edge. And a glimpse of Larry Mullen on the right.
And yes, Bono and Adam Clayton
And here is Javier Bardem again. He was on the red carpet before the steps and kept jumping everywhere and dancing. So funny! He was having the time of his life and was showing it. Here he's talking to someone because U2 was on the other side.
FYI
And now a video of the event. It doesn't translate the atmosphere and the sound but that's the best I could find. Again, goose bumps. :)

Other (major) celebrity there that day: Leonardo Dicaprio, for The 11th Hour (just before the Coen pic). Sadly, no picture.
In other news, I'm just back from seeing Milo, Hayden, Jack and Adrian. It was pretty epic. Will tell you more about it when the pictures will be developped (you know, the old fashionned way.)
Do not repost the pictures anywhere, thank you. :)
