nypdolphin3379! I wish you the best and hope you have everything you want. :)
For the 7th year in a row (I call it my "annual tennis days") I went to the Paris Masters Series. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, which means quarterfinals, semis and final.
Friday: 5 matches :
T. Robredo d. J. Nieminen
N. Davydenko d. M. Ancic
D. Hrbaty d. T. Berdych
T. Haas d. M. Safin (Safin had won in 2000, 2002 and 2004. No 4th time this year.)
F. Santoro/N. Zimonjic d. B&M Bryan
The first match started at 2 pm and the last ended at... 12.40 am. Yes, you read well, 10.40 hours of tennis. :) By the time I arrived at the station to come back home, I had missed the last train. Plus there was no more battery in my phone. I started to panick a little but remembered that there is a bus at night that makes the link. Said bus came at 1.20 and since it takes double of time to make the usually quite short trip, I arrived at home at 2.35.
Short night then Saturday matches:
A. Clément/M.Llodra d. J. Bjorkman/M. Mirnyi
N. Davidenko d. T. Robredo
D. Hrbaty d. T. Haas (Haas, who had played really well the day before, was sick and had to retire.)
Sunday matches:
A. Clément/M. Llodra d. F. Santoro/N. Zimonjic
N. Davidenko d. D. Hrbaty
Davidenko played so well! He won 6/1; 6/2; 6;2. I'm really happy for him, being 3rd best player in the world, winning his first Masters Series, then going to the Masters in Shanghai next week and playing the Davis Cup final after that. Wow! What a great end of the year! I guess the short holidays he'll take after that will be much needed.
Btw, J. Blake goes to the Masters too! Yay! :)
Now I'm waiting for next year tournament. :)
