Shiney Ahuja's verdict
Well the court sentenced him to 7 years imprisonment for raping his domestic help. Any rapist, whether a Bollywood star, a sportsman, politician or an average person like me, deserves to be punished, period. But when I read the views of celebrities online, I had to log in to make a post.
Its so shocking for me to hear actors supporting Shiney, with Celina Jaitley actually saying it was one impulsive moment and Shiney was targeted for being an actor when other rapists roam free! Come on, being a woman you can say that? Like I said, no one should be spared and especially more so, when you're a figure other people look up to. Really, people here can be such brainless idiots and hypocrites.
Its a simple matter of delivering justice. I frankly do wonder at the strength of our legal system when I read Mahesh Bhatt very confidently remarked that now that Shiney has appealed to the Supreme Court, he will be let off.
If Shiney has raped his domestic help then even 7 years Rigorous Imprisonment cannot undo the damage done to that girl. If he is guilty, then I hope he is actually convicted and does not go free. But seeing the condition of our legal system, I have my fears....
