Sad to say, but Blade Trinity did not kick ass. It was just ass.
I think there's a good enough action movie in there that could've been chiseled out with some sharper editing, but that didn't happen. David Goyer wrote the first two Blade movies and this third time around he writes and directs -- clearly directing isn't his game. There are entire scenes on there that must've read brilliant on paper but just falls flat in reality.
Too many uninteresting characters were introduced and given screen time. It's very telling that the few times the theater audience gets excited and makes some noise is when Wesley Snipes is doing some sweet ass-whooping. People pay to see Blade, not all these other jokers.
The bad guy looks like your average boy band member a decade after stardom; a little older, a tad chubbier, but still clinging on to the bling-bling and leather pants look. Not very scary.
Still, not entirely a loss. Ryan Reynolds was funny, and Jessica Biel was sexay.
Hehe, Mark just hated Parker Posey.
