Jedi keep it real

My product unit manager (my lead's boss's boss) was in line with me at the crapeteria's cashier earlier. He said to me, "hey, congratulations on your review." Whoa. Anymore of this and my head will explode.

Ah, fortunately there's product bugs to keep me real. Keepin' it real! Looks like my team introduced a bug in a code debugging tool we ship monthly to customers. The damn thing leaks memory at every linestep, and it's been doing so for at least two months! Strictly speaking, it's not my area of responsibility -- it's something my mentoree (mentee?) should've found, since he owns testing this tool. However the way my lead and his boss sees it, I'm responsible for it as well, and I sort of agree with them (it = the bug slipping through). I'm like... a Jedi Master, and he's my Padawan. I should be overseeing his growth in The Force (of software excellence).

Came in to work at 1:30 p.m. today. Pretty late even by my standards. I wonder how long I can ride this good review. ;-) Bah. Schedules? Core business hours? A Jedi craves not these things.
