Anson Tripp, a brother, died today.
I didn't know Anson well. He pledged the semester after I graduated, so I probably met him one of the following years, or possibly the semester before if he hung around.
Honestly, I can't recall off the top of my head.
I find myself with conflicting feelings on the subject. On the one hand, I have a personal philosophy that if I don't know someone, their death is equal to all other deaths. So, if a movie star dies, it is just as important as the mother of 4 in the next city over.
On the other hand, he's a Brother. More-over, he's a brother from my chapter. That means something to me. It's a bond of commonality that automatically promoted Anson from "Someone I don't know well" to "someone I know, just not yet."
It's complicated.
