Didn't end up going to Karaoke, which was fine with me. Stayed home and watched big brother, and hung out with Amanda for awhile, then went to bed. More class on friday, it was pretty fun. Met with the group of people doing placements in Missisauga, and there are 2 girls, Jen and Stephanie that are at Havenwood with me. Seems pretty cool.
The last orientation activities were the haunted walk and the boat cruise. I really really wanted to go, but realistically you couldn't do both, we didn't think. So, skipped the haunted Walk(making Amanda promise to go sometime with me this year), and got ready for the boat cruise. The busses in Kingston really suck, so we had to take the 9:15, and hope to get downtown and find out way by 9:45 when the boat borded, or the 8:15. Thayani, Amanda and I chose that option. We found it first, then went into a restaurant/bar, the Texas lonestar grill. Amanda ordered cheese quesadillas(?) and Thayani and I order strawberry daquiris. We hung there for awhile, then made our way to the boat. Borded took forever. We had to be frisked by someone, so we sorted into guy and girl lines...of course, there are like a 10th as many guys and girls, so it took forever for us to get up there. Once they did that, someone checked your purse, then a university guy checked our ID, then boat personnel checked it(pretty stupid, huh!), then we got on. I ended up buying another strawberry daquiri. It was huge, and I never finished it. But it was fun. Then we took a cab home, with a bus driver making intellectual conversation with us, that went straight over my head, lol, then we hung in a common room for awhile and went to bed. I put my ear plugs in, because there was a little party going on in the lounge on my floor. I woke up at 4:30am, took my ear plus out, and a minute later heard this girl Vanessa from my floor, yelling so loudly in the hallway. At 4:30 in the morning!!!! I couldn't believe how rude she was being. Oh well, apparently we aren't all that mature.
Today Amanda and I went to the bookstore again, and I've been working away, getting organized and reading all day. And I'm no way near done enough. Man, this year will be fun, but it will be challenging....very challenging!!!!! I have so much to do it's crazy!!! I have 2 classes that end sept. 29th, and it's totally jam packed between now and then! All classes are pretty much pass or fail...some have pass, fail, or honours. One main class, Prof 150, is divided into different modules(child learning and development, Social Justice, Assessment and Evaluation, and something else Ithink). You fail any part of those, you fail the whole course. Fail the course, fail our of school. It's pretty crazy. We have a post-test for assessment, and if you don't get 80%, you fail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm absolutely terrified. With that said, back to work!!!
