If you were here, I would have taken yo with me! Actually we had pretty good weather today, it went up to 10C. And we had Vietnamese food in the city before driving home :)

Absolutely huge crowd, energized and peaceful. Chuck Schumer, one of the NY Senators showed up at the finish line just as we got there--the whole crowd was shouting "don't give in" at him. We had to stop about a block from Trump Tower, they wouldn't let us get any closer than that. For good reason probably.

Day one of the Resistance.

I feel it only fair to tell you that my own Government is acting like they KNOW the Russian Asset stories are true btw, like it's not even "precautionary measures just in case" sort of a thing. It's like they already know for sure.

It seems to be a pretty standard belief among foreign policy wonks here as well. He's got so much debt and so much shady biz in his background that there's no way he hasn't been financed to some extent by laundered russian $

Perhaps because he is taking Kremlin pointers, the President seems to be labouring under a belief that he can treat the US press corp like the Russian one. I do not think the American press is going to take at all kindly to that. That press conference he did last week was some popcorn munching epicness. It's like Trump agreed to the Presidency, it's just he didn't realise it was the American Presidency he'd be getting and therefore is now sulking that it's not like running a psycho-democratic Autocracy.

I think it's possible he's going to snap with the press and announce some sort of "unAmerican activities" committee within the first 6 months. This all isn't bad news though, the more energy he and his People spend getting distracted by the Press the better.

The man still doesn't have a clue what it means to be the President of the United States. None. Absolutely no concept of service or duty. It's just another opportunity to preen and grift.

I'm wondering how bad the fallout will be when he realizes (if he ever realizes) that he's being played by Putin and people like Bannon (the Breitbart guy)

yes to be fair to the President, he may not realise he's being handled as he probably just sees Russian Oligarchs giving him money as "businesspeople backer likes myself supporting me" and also his ego won't let him understand that "Donald you are our friend yes? we really like you, you are smart, here please make use of our recreational facilities, we are friends and friends help each other out right...............oh by the way, this US foreign policy thing ( ... )

Wilful treason supposes a degree of thought that I don't think is involved with Trump. I do think there are some in his camp that are much more aware of what the collusion with Russia means. It must be incredibly lucrative, why else would you do it... But Trump is really driven by money in a way I don't understand.

The question is will Trump supporters CARE about him being a Russian Asset and the treason of his Camp. Probably not. All he's got to do is deliver on the jobs front and they'll let themselves be run by a Putin Puppet if needs be.
