I think take the second one's directions, if you want directions from the one that tells the truth. I might be wrong, but I just did a lot of if-then statements.

If 1 were telling the truth...well, he can't be, because if it were true he would be lying, and therefore it cannot be true.

If 2 is lying too, then only one person could be a liar, because we know all three aren't liars, and if 2's statement is a lie as well, we know that the number of liars is not two. That would leave 1 as the only liar.

If 2 is telling the truth, then 1 and 3 have to be the liars by default.

If 3 is lying, it confirms that he and 1 are the liars, because as a lie, it can't be entirely true, and we know 1 is lying.

If 3 were telling the truth, he'd be saying 1 and 2 are liars, which means that 2's statement would be a lie, which would once again mean that only one would be a liar, which doesn't corroborate 3's statement.

Therefore, 2 telling the truth is the only thing that checks out, I think?

Um, let me know if you figure it out, because now I'm really curious.

Yes, that is the same answer I came up with earlier today. Now I have to use mathematical logic to show this shit!
I'm in the mood to make recommendations right now; have you read anything by Cormac McCarthy? If you haven't, you should read Blood Meridian. It has Mr. Cooper's seal of approval.
