Life, man. It'll get'ya. Sometimes it can be so engaging and hectic that it won't stand still long enough to be written about. Other times I just suck at coming up with things to write about. I can talk for ages about the weirdest things. Eloquently, too. But is it worth reading? I guess I should ask the people who read this journal. All Anne of them. Not that I blame any of the not-you reading this. Livejournal doesn't have any guarantee of quality.
It doesn't help that I am a horrible critic. And as soon as I become a better writer, I become a bitterer critic. My posts are too-short too-wandering uncreatively-formatted not-as-good-as-him/her/the other and derivative of the same. When I do write, it's usually pretty good; but the only time I write is when I'm forced to. In short, I need a kick in the pants. It is an attempt to reach my proverbial leg around to strike my proverbial ass that I am intorducing the following reforms:
Deadlines! Fear of fears! Ulcer-spawning demons that lurk in the soon-to-be! It is time to let you in. It is time to met the venom symbiote amplify my spider powers, as it were. From this day until I cover my ears inside a church bell and inadvertantly turn Eddie Brock into a raving psychopath, this journal will be weekly! Sundays have been chosen as the day for writing. On the sabbath, I am collected, calm, and ready to write about what.
Tags! Reflective, informative, topical, creative. The three vie for my thought whenever I open this page. No longer! Musings on the nature of Nightcrawlers character will no longer find their way into my musings on love, or reports on the medical status of my cats.
Early drafts! I have a notebook for a reason. This post is exempt.
Writing about writing. Writing about writing about writing. spliiting the infinitives of splitting infinitves. I should shut up. But before I go, I'm not going to forget some ideas I have for future posts.
Topical: Wii and DS games I would like to see.
Topical: How Marvel should be written Magneto.
Informational: Meet my new Cat.
Reflective: Beauraucracy.
Topical: My starfleet dream crew.
Creative: The biggest hunk of fiction I wrote will soon be defunct as the concept gets absorbed into one story and the dialogue into another, so I'm post the old draft onto this.
Also, I may be sprucing my posts up a little. I tend to be of the belief that words should be able to speak for themselves, but it's the freaking internet. It's the perfect nesting ground for conflations of various media. Plus, my girlfirend is great with this knd of shit, and I need to be better at it. see you guys Sunday, hopefully.
Ta, comrades.
EDIT [March 11, 2007] It turns out that most of this post was a lie, as well]
