WInner Winner Chicken Dinner
Well, this whole engagement thing has started off with a bang.
We went to a bridal expo two weekends ago, showed up about an hour before they shut down.
Saw some interesting booths, talked to some interesting people, sampled some interesting cakes ... If you have never seen a chocolate fountain before .... mmmhmmm, heaven.
As we are leaving, we find that Susan's name has been drawn for a door prize. Sweet!
We go over to the table and there are gift certificates for various services that we get to pick from. Well, I can't decide, she can't decide, and the organizer of the event is there and says, this is the last drawing, so if you see a couple things you want there, feel free to take them.
So ... we walked away with $50 off a cake, $20 off dry cleaning, $50 in accessories and a wooden frame (no glass :( ). Not bad!
Then .... Susan gets a call adn apparently she put her name in one of those drawing things and won us a free vacation. We had to sit through an hour-long presentation on the Pro-Health pots & pans set, but hey, for an all inclusive 3-day/2-night trip to either of 2 places in the Dominican Republic or 4 places in Mexico ... I will let them talk all they want about the benefits of surgical stainless steel in a broiling pot.
Last weekend I want to a friends wedding. Catholic wedding, so I didn't really get any ideas from that, but the reception place was very nice. The DJ was ok. The catering was great. So Valley Vista country club is on the list for receptions. Once Jason & Cassandra get back from their honeymoon in Vegas, I might have to find time to talk with them about wedding planning.
Ok, it's just about RD meeting fun time. So, until later, ttfn, ta ta for now!
