Today I got a ride from Pip and Bob and moseyed on down to the Del Mar racetrack.. We saw Cake, they played a swell show. I'm sorry you didn't make it up with us. :-( They played a lot of old songs that I haven't heard more than a few times, but just watching them play their instruments was awesome. The lead singer played mostly rhythm guitar on an amped acoustic, the other guitar player and the drummer were talented but the bass player was the shit. They played a couple new ones and unsuccessfully tried to get drunk people to sing "no phone today no phone today i just wanna be alone today" or something like that. I smoked a joint at the beginning and at the encore and 3 folks walked up and requested a blast. Couldn't say no.. Drunken dancing people are always fun to watch, and after the second joint I joined them in their intoxicated shuffling. I've listened to Cake for quite a few years and they tickled my ivories all right, boy I tell you. Afterwards ate a double burger @ Denny's, walked to the pier, bought incense from a bum, and did bucket bongs. Watched the first half of the Wizard of Oz synced to Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of The Moon" and after hearing the whole album once we decided not to again. I stumbled upon the quiz and knew I was destined to take it.. I'M DONE WRITING NOW!
