1) Was 2006 a good year for you? It was pretty difficult at times, but generally I enjoyed it.

2) What was your favorite moment of the year? in Florida, standing in this hotel that was built out of driftwood and looking over the ocean.

3) What was your least favorite moment of the year? Sitting in the airport lounge, waiting for my flight to board, crying my eyes out and wishing i wasn't leaving

4) Where were you when 2006 began? At my parents' house. Lame.

5) Who were you with? My parents and Simon

6) Where will you be when 2006 ends? Probably here, at my house. I may be asleep. I have to be at the airport at 7 a.m.

7) Who will you be with when 2006 ends? I don't know yet.

8) Did you keep your new years resolution of 2006? I never make any of those. I know better.

9) Do you have a new years resolution for 2007? Noooooo!

10) Did you make any new friends in 2006? Six months is not a long time to make real friends, but I've met some people who I really hope will become friends!

11) Who are your favorite new friends? The folks at work.

12) What was your favorite month of 2006? I don't know. Maybe February or March....making good headway with my thesis, partying a bit, and not close enough to moving yet for it to begin being scary.

13) Did you travel outside of the US in 2006? Yep

14) How many different states did you travel to in 2005? Only two, Georgia and Florida.

15) Did you lose anybody close to you in 2006? No.

16) Did you miss anybody in the past year? Oh, yeah.

17) What was your favorite movie that you saw in 2006? The Science of Sleep

18) What was your favorite song from 2006? Gnarls Barkley, Crazy

19) What was your favorite record from 2006? I honestly don't know. I don't listen to many complete records....just songs. Although I really liked M.I.A.'s Arular.

20) How many concerts did you see in 2006? I went to see Death Cab in June. But I should have stayed home and watched Holland-Portugal. Not that it wasn't good, but it really was the kind of show you should go to as a couple.

21) Did you have a favorite concert in 2006? No

22) Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2006? Not as much as in 2005! I got tanked a couple of times, but not like I used to.

23) Did you do a lot of drugs in 2006? None, really

24) How many people did you sleep with in 2006? Two

25) Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year? Kept going back to that horrible guy I was seeing here

26) What was the worst lie someone told you in 2006? the kind you tell to get laid.

27) Did you treat somebody badly in 2006? Well, I broke up with Danny over email

18) Did someone treat you badly in 2006? Yes, I think so

29) How much money did you spend in 2006? The move was horribly expensive. I don't even want to think about it.

30) What was your proudest moment of 2006? Being told that some parts of my thesis were dissertation-level

31) What was your most embarrassing moment of 2006? No idea. I guess I don't get embarrassed that easily.

32) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2006 and change something, what would it be? You know, I dont think I'd change anything.

33) What are your plans for 2007? Take care of myself...find another course to do for fun, like the dance class that just ended...not have sex with anyone unless I am sure they care about me and I care about them.

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?: Dealt with Dutch bureaucracy, lived in a single room filled with someone else's stuff

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?: No

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?: Not anyone really close, but many of my acquaintances gave birth. What is it with all these 23-year-olds getting pregnant??

4. Did anyone close to you die?: No

5. What countries did you visit?: Same as usual: Holland, and the U.S.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006? Money to go on vacation to Portland, OR

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?: None, I'm terrible with dates.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?: Being financially self-supportive almost rightaway after moving

9. What was your biggest failure?: What's always my biggest failure? Trusting the wrong people.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?: None until this bronchitis thingy I have now

11. What was the best thing you bought?: I didnt buy it as such, but the money for deposit and first month's rent on this apt was definitely the best-spent! Along with my computer.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?: Tim, for sending me a webcam for my birthday!! And my other friends for being sweet and keeping in touch with me. And Sarah's, for deciding to move here.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?: The aforementioned guy.

14. Where did most of your money go?: To coffee and books, and to a plane ticket. Some things don't change, and shouldn't.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? The France trip that didnt happen!!! Also, going to Georgia on Jan. 1st.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006? Gnarls Barkley, Crazy

17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?: Happier, I think. This time last year I was worrying about what it would be like to move and leave everything behind. Now I know that the worst of that is behind me and my life is settling into place.

18 Are you fatter or thinner? I have no idea. About the same.

19. Richer or Poorer?: Richer, because now I live in an area where they pay people actual living wages instead of lunch money. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the many jobs I had at VSU, but I couldn't go on living like that forever.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?: Yoga- my back is not happy these last few months.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?: I don't know.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?: At my parents, as per usual.

22. Did you fall in love in 2006?: Love's not the word.

23. How many one night stands?: None.

24. What was your favorite TV program?: The Colbert Report!! I have such good memories of watching that with Danny at Ryan and Adam's.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?: Yes

26. What was the best book you read?: It's a toss-up between Amitav Ghosh's The Glass Patace  and Kiran Desai's The Inheritance of Loss.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?: I didnt really make any this year. Bad, I know!

28. What did you want and get?: A place for me and my cat to live

29. What did you want and not get?: A roommate I could get along with

30. What was your favorite film of this year?:  Still, hands down, The Science of Sleep

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?: 26, and actually I didn't enjoy it. It was just a month after I moved and it reminded me of how I did not know anyone here.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?: A nicer roommate

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?: Warm fuzzy sweaters in earth tones

34. What kept you sane?: Praying. Working part-time. My friends.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?: Gael Garcia Bernal!

36. What political issue stirred you the most?: The stories about piglets being castrated without sedation. That stopped me eating pork, and i LOVE pork.

37. Who did you miss?: Lots of people, but Katie especially. She's like my sister, and she's really far away now

38. Who was the best new person you met?: Leone, my coworker. She and I have a blast at work, and it makes it about a million times more fun.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006: I should take better care of myself, because then I can also be better to others.
