February Stars
Well. It's been an interesting few weeks. Having been up to Hudds in the middle of all that snow and met Bracken the puppy (who is ACE and has lots of personality and big feet) we're off back up on the 3rd March to dogsit while my parents go to Italy for a few days - we both had holiday to use up and at 12 weeks she's still just a baby and we volunteered to live in my parents lovely big house for free so she wouldn't have to go in kennels. Hard life innit. Of course as soon as that was booked, I was informed that the French website for DUO is moving over here and yours truly is going to manage it as of mid-March. ARGH! So, potential promotion and payrise a matter of weeks after I got made permanent. I think someone up there is looking after me... I'm sort of scared but to be honest I do so much for the UK side that offloading some of that would be a blessing. Plus more money. Uh huh. There's only me so I don't have to tell anyone what to do which makes me happy. My whole team has left now at work - Amelia has gone off to Oz and starts at Durham (Cuths) in October, Amy left, and Nerys had her baby at the weekend. We're also babysitting a snake for 2 weeks, in the sense of changing its water, as our friends have gone to Barbados for le cricket.
We also booked to go to Rome the first week of May cause we never get to go on holiday. We're flying out from Bristol the day after May day bank holiday - a full week off sounds like bliss. And we're replacing the windows and front door as we've saved a lot since we moved in and it's necessary. Matt's sister is moving to Sale in Cheshire for a job which means his parents and mine will be in the same general area a lot more often (scary). The rest of our plans for the next few months generally involve shopping, drinking and sleep. And y'know hoping we don't get made redundant like the rest of the country...
