Okay.. we definitely aren't in Kansas any more

Poor N had an "interesting" weekend.  On Saturday he had a b/m which we dropped him off at.  S. walked him into the school - it wasn't in a shul but space in a high school.  No worries there... just walked a long way into the building.

We picked up N. when he called.  I asked him how his friend did, and his first comment well.. "funny you should ask."  Turns out it was the wrong b/m but he didn't realize it until the Torah service because it was a very traditional service and the b/m boy didn't do anything until the Torah service.  Okay.. that was unusual.  N. was fine with it because the party was Sunday evening.

Sunday arrives and we drive to the place where the reception is... getting ready to leave when N. comes out and says it is the wrong party. WHAT!!!!!   S gets out and goes in with N.  My comment it must be a big place and more than one celebration is going on.  No, the family changed the date of the party due to a conflict of some sort.  Okay, N. got this invitation in December before we left for the States.  The family changed the party and never let invited guests know?  I RSVPed and they didn't say "oh by the way we changed the date of the reception."   For all we know they changed the date of the b/m and N. was in the correct place in on Saturday.

I'm in shock.  How can you just change the date of a reception and not let guests know?  N. was suppose to know by osmosis?  I can't image this ever happening in the States.. formal invitations sent out and you change the date of the celebration?

Weekend was good otherwise.  Talked to the dealer about selling our car just before we leave.  Found out it is best to sell it to a dealership from a used car dealer.  This way we won't have the liability of worrying about the buyer needing financing.

Saturday night we went out to dinner with friends and S.'s mobile rings it is another friend asking where we having dinner.  S. is funny and starts to spell the name of the street.  Very funny.  We were about done with our dinner when they walk into the restaurant.  Turns out they left their weekend in Lorne early so they wouldn't have to travel on Sunday to get ready for a wedding they were going to attend, plus the weather was iffy.

We moved down to a table for 6 and waited for them to order dinner and then had dessert.  J. was sweet and gave up chocolate mousse for me.  :)  It was delicious.  Although all those calories not the best thing.

We planned a long weekend in Apollo Bay for Labour Day.  I found a place where we can go on a canoe ride to see platypuses in the wild.  Definitely thinking of doing that.  Hopefully we'll get one more chance to enjoy the crafts market in Apollo Bay and just enjoy the area.
