Yes indeed! I wonder if it really is a Stieff? Have you looked at the ear for signs of the tag? Grandmother was born in 1910, so I expect it would be from sometime between then and 1915 or so.

That ear doesn't have a tag, but both ears are badly damaged, and I can see a spot on the corresponding ear that looks like it could have had the button attached.

I think maybe I will ask them about it, for sentimental reasons if nothing else. I'm considering buying the new version, to display along with its predecessor!
