Traditionally, it's shark fin soup or else bird nest soup, but I'm going to see if I can lobby for a new rendition ;D It's not like our table isn't going to be of the 'there's no more ROOM for soup' nature for that night (or what I call the meal that is really three meals at once).
Yes, I'm about a week away from sorting out if I can go in January or not.
Now that ALNM has shifted from the Nokia Theatre to Studio 54, I have a better idea of sight lines and such.
MMMMM. CNY DINNER. This is why I'm leaving NYC two days earlier than planned (curses), but it also means lots of happy food, which is good. :D
Good luck on sorting out January! And I really do hope you get into ALNM. I had wanted to see that myself, but I'll be kind of showed-out for the entire fortnight, so I thought maybe a low-key concert might be better for my nerves. ;)
I need all the luck I can gather for that weekend. If things turn out the way I want them to (crosses fingers, limbs, etc, etc), then I'll have a weekend in NYC. Otherwise, I shall be living vicariously through your posts ;)
Apparently I can miss major birthdays, and other significant milestones, but CNY is the no-miss date. That, and the winter solstice, unless its observed early.
Well, I'll cross a few limbs for you too, then! ;)
Living vicariously through me is a great idea. I'm a bit ascared to be living through me, because I have, like, literally 18 shows lined up for 13 days. *weeps*
CNY is IT. Favourite part of the year... well, as part of end-of-year, start-of-year festivities.
Obviously that's now jumped up on the list of stuff I want for CNYE dinner this January :) Nevermind the other soups. ;)
Oh, and YaY Julia! :)

Get this soup for CNY. IMPERATIVE.
BTW, are you still trying for a NY trip in January?
