dorkage: House 4x06 Whatever It Takes

So, I gather a lot of people didn't like this episode? That's what my flist suggests, anyway. Hmmm. I think I must just be ridiculously easy to please or something. I was as fascinated by the show as I've always been, though, of course, I'd always ALWAYS want more Cuddy. (Only 28 caps this episode as opposed to 52 last!) Yes, the show is still ( Read more... )

Your alternative dialogue (and Cuddy's purple sweater) were the best thing(s) about this ep! Well, aside for the mere fact of there at least being ONE H/C scene.

I want CIA lady doc to go away. Didn't like her. Didn't think she had much reason to be impressed with House, either. Cuddy knows House well enough to look beyond the immature remarks (which are, for some reason, much sexier when Cuddy's the object, no?) and she sees him at his best as a brilliant doc. I mean, there's the OBVIOUS reasons to be impressed with House, sure. But, anyway. My thoughts aren't very poetic today.

Though, hi, Cameron? In the ER? People would expect you to do whatever it takes to save them too, you know...

LMAO -- that is all. True, true.

As for why House > Foreman. Many elements -- I've thought Omar's been great in some eps/scenes, but for the most part, it seems like a phoned in performance, where he relies too much on raising his eyebrows. Anything House does, you get the passion behind it. And for the most part, House doesn't care if his theory turns out to be wrong. He'll just come up with another brilliant theory that'll fit. And I think House respects anyone who will stick to their theory and go to lengths to test it, even if he's already told them they're an idiot for even thinking it in the first place.

Basically, House has enough actual skill to warrant him being smug. Foreman doesn't.

Next week does look like it'll be good. Definitely looking forward to it. Highly and obviously sarcastic House is always fun. "I became a doctor because of Patch Adams," and "My eyes look best in rooms with summer colors" (YES, because my favorite scenes to icon are ones in Cuddy's office; coincidence that her office colors compliment him so nicely? I THINK NOT.).

Thank you for also noting the Cuddy sweater, hi. So much gorgeous in, like, thirty seconds - my eyes couldn't take all the lovely!
Glad you liked the alternative dialogue too. Mmmm, sexful is the way to go with this ship, yes indeed.

Oh I didn't like CIA doc either. She didn't at any point demonstrate to me anything interesting that would make me want her to stay on. No fire, spark or even Cam-type smugness. And Cuddy knows House well enough to just enjoy his immature remarks and accept them for the ridiculously back-handed compliments they are! DEFINITELY sexier when directed in La Cuddy's direction. I'm so bummed about a potential addition to the staff, although it'll be interesting, I guess, to see the rest of the team get really upset over the sudden addition and bicker like children over how unfair it is for her to be let in halfway etc.
The Survivor thing needs to end. Soon. But it looks like it'll head well into 4x09, at least, based on spoilers I've kinda-not-really-skimmed.

You're right about Omar, I guess: he DOES phone in, sometimes, and lacks Hugh's all-encompassing charisma. (Wiping the drool off the keyboard so I can continue...) But it's not just that, it's the writing and development of his character too. Every time they make him human - the whole backstory with his mom - they somehow turn that into making Foreman an even bigger jerk. And a jerk with neither sarcastic wit nor true genius to save him, unlike House. Although the episode again tried to prove that Foreman is smart in his own right, giving him the heatstroke diagnosis and House actually telling his ducklets to listen to Foreman in future. Sigh. House, why are you being soooo niiiiice to Foreman?!

Those two quotes from the promo KILLED ME. So much funny. Patch Adams, LOL. House is my hero. OFFICE PORN - I mean, SCENE - will be awesome. And will be capped within an inch of its life until its death by both you and me, I'm sure!!!
