I'd pick Benjamin Button out of the five on show, I guess. Though I haven't seen Frost/Nixon yet.
Sean counts as a minor upset, but he was good, so I'll let it go.

I didn't hate Slumdog or anything, but it was corny and predictable, and moreover I think the criticisms of poverty porn are justified. Whatever, the best movies are almost never given the Hollywood recognition they deserve, but that's why I'm glad there are international film festivals and awards.
I'm now very curious about this Japanese film that upset Waltz with Bashir and The Class, and hope it has a US distributor if it doesn't already - though I'm sure you're less so. ;)

Huh, I've never heard of Departures before. I actually had to go google it. Hopefully it'll come to Singapore; probably a greater chance of that now that it's won, plus we're Azn. I just want Waltz and Class to get to these shores too, dangit.
