Gecko In Transit

Feb 21, 2017 09:15

This is 100% me right now, as I wait for my gecko to arrive:

Homer named her Amy. She is supposed to arrive by 10:30 this morning, and it's 9am. Her tracking info says she was in MEMPHIS two hours ago. Um... yeah, she can't get here by 10:30 if she was in Memphis at 7:30. The breeder is looking into it, and she's kinda freaked out, because she just wants Amy to be safe. And that's why I'm freaking out. AND, I'm freaking out because it's hard to get her temps correct in Homer's room. I have been fiddling with the damn tank heater and thermostat, checking it with my infrared temp gun, and it's like it either says 75, which is way too cold on the cool side of the tank, and then it's like 100 or 91 on the other side, and 91 is perfect, but 100 is NOT! So... I don't know what I'm doing. Obvs. And I'm worried Amy could die in transit.

Holy fuck, dude. This is a super nerve wracking process.

Off to mess around with the temps some more. And try not to freak out. And try to concentrate enough to write something for LJ Idol. Which is due today. Shneezners! <-- my made up swear word as of late. but really I only try to hold back on the profanity around Homer, and I don't even do a good job of that, most of the time. So... shit fuck fuck fuck shit hell ass damn.

Cross fingers for my little geecko. I hope she makes it. Here. And also survives.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

k bye for now.
