I tried to make it humbler (but still luxurious - school was for nobles and rich merchants after all) and more scholarly, being college and all that. Schools were run by priests, only the most prestigious school, the Prince's School, would be particularly voluptuous (as far as I know).
On a personal note, my mother went through her heart operation well. She will be able to return to work in a few weeks. My friend in Japan got in contact with me; she and her family are safe. What a relief!
