Never has a kind of cheese had such a powerful hold over my imagination before. Never again, either, I hope. Usually I find myself dwelling in this way on, say, the continent of Antarctica, astronomical magnitudes, a Sappho fragment, a Schubert sonata, or a banjo Pink Floyd cover. (So I thought I'd pass on the infection. What else is a LiveJournal for?) Mind you, it's not the sort of obsession where I want to eat it. That's saying something. I've long held the ambition to one day eat a termite queen, for example.
