Happy Merchmas One and All

Well, Merchmas season appears to be going smoothly. S1 seems to be recovering from her surgery well and had her Christmas party despite protest. She got a lot of pleasure our of flashing her battle wounds to everyone as they walked in the door. But we played Encore (at which I remain undefeated) and I got to see a bunch of folks I haven't seen in ages. And eat ham. Delicious ham. The eve was only slightly spoiled by attempting to do S2's dishes which had gotten... gross during their run of getting new carpet followed by hospital stay. I want a t-shirt that say's "I survived Sam's Kitchen" (I love you, Sam). I got some neat gifties from people too. I'll do a post about that after I have a complete list.

MG is in town and the two of us went out for Chipotle and ficcage and watching A Pinky and the Brain Christmas which still makes me choke up every time. And she enjoyed her plushie neuron I got her. Yay!

Middle sis is in town and staying with me. The conversation on Thursday went something like this,
Me: M's calling me? Why's she doing that?
M: Yo! So I bet the parents haven't told you
Me: Probably not. What?
M: I'm living with you for Christmas since the houseguests haven't left (and they should leave. Now).
Me: Okaaaaaaaaay. Sure.
M: Great. See ya Saturday.

So yeah, I'm volunteered to host. But M's a good guest and mostly I've just been making her watch Peacemaker. And eat squeezy cheese. Last night we went over to save my mom from the neighbors who wouldn't leave. What do you say when you walk into a room and the first thing this woman you barely know only because she lives next door to your parents says, "You should cut your hair like M's. Cuz it rounds her face and it would round your face too."

I just sat there blinking at her for a minute while my mom interceded going, "Oh they have very different hair types." I looked at my dad, who thought all this was funny. Then I glared at neighbor lady again and repressed the urge to say, "Maybe you should dye your hair a color that looks remotely natural." Then M and I made everybody watch Stardust cuz Stardust is good.

Afterwards, we came home and watched the old Henson Christmas special "The Christmas Toy" on YouTube. I'm amazed that the crap I watched as a child. This almost gave me nightmares today.

So yeah, much holidaying to do and much not killing of my parents' friends. I can handle this. I'm bringing Arashi and M brought Gitaroo Man. We shall win. Hope everyone has a happy *insert holiday denomination here*. Happy Merchmas to all!
